We can be reached Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 6:00 pm at (435)919-7668
- Fill out the complete functional medicine analysis
This one is very indepth and will take you some time but doesn’t have to be filled out all at one sitting. It is best if it is received 5 days before the appointment so that the provider has time to review it and can use the time best for other questions. There is a reward for doing it within that time period which will be worth the effort.
Bring any previous labs and records that you have with you to help with the history.
- Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out forms
If you are super fast at filling out necessary forms, there is always Susan’s top list of books available to puruse, peaceful music, Golden Milk to sip on, and utilizing the G-Force to rid that extra lymph building up inside of you. If you are into yoga or meditation, there we’ve got you covered there too (super good research on that).
- Spend 90 minutes with susan's complete attention
This will most likely be different than any other medical visit you have had in your life.
- Have labs drawn
In functional medicine we use labs as biomarkers to indicate how all of your systems are interlinked. After hearing your story and repeating it back to you so that she truly understands what you have shared with her, Susan will use her well developed skills to determine what further labs need to be drawn.
Genetic testing may also be of assistance, although, you need to know that your genes are never your destiny.
- personalized medicine
While you wait for your labs to process, Susan will develop a personalized plan for you from what she gleans from your timeline, your matrix and your physical exam.
- Lab Review
This will be a longer visit where we will discuss the lab results in great detail and create a thorough plan to address the issues with therapeutic interventions.
- Education, Education, Education
Group visits are an excellent medium of education for people with similar conditions to support one another and find answers to questions they might not have thought of. The cost is minimal and you get 90 minutes of Susan’s time again (30 minutes of presentation and 60 minutes of discussion).
- Change your life
What you have been doing has not worked. Are you ready to change what you are doing so that you can get better? Are you ready to maybe do some of the things you have already tried but in a different way and a different order? Food is medicine and information. However nutritional supplements are sometimes necessary until your food plan, sleep, movement, decreased stress, and building relationships are optimal.
These are to assess progress as well as outcomes and implement more therapeutic interventions as needed. Functional Medicine is not a quick fix. At Roots and Raices Functional Medicine we are not all about the Pill for the Ill. If that is what you are looking for, this isn’t the place.
We treat the cause of the problem not just the symptom.
